Statue Sankt Goran and the dragon

The statue of Sankt Goran and the dragon is a bronze copy of a wooden sculpture that is placed in Storkyran. (Storkyrkan = The big church). The bronze statue was put in its place during the year 1912-1913.

The original wood sculpture was made by Bernt Notkes. Bernt Notkes was a German wood artist that lived in Stockholm during the period 1484 to 1496.

The bronze statue is a gift by Hjalmar Wicander.

The statue is situated in the small square of kopmansbrinken in the old city.
