The statue mother Svea is on Nygatan 40-42. The house on Nygatan 40-42 was built 1863 as head office for Stockholm's individual bank.

The runic stone is a part of the foundation of the house. The inscription on the runic stone says:” Torsten and Frogunn put up this stone after there son”. The stone are from the 1100 century. The cannon was placed in front of the runic stone in the 1700 century in order to protect it against the big wagons that had begun to operate the narrow streets.

There are many houses in the old city that have ornaments on there fronts. In these ornament the artist has projected a female body part below the man's face? Or is it something else? You will have to look after for your self. The portal is on Skeppsbron 44.
